How can I get a hunt lined up?
Click on the link at the bottom of the main page to print a copy of the application. Fill out the application and send it to us. If you meet the requirements, we will contact you about dates that are available.
Who funds these outdoor adventures?
Hunts of Hopes and Dreams is financed completely through private donations and contributions by corporate sponsors. If you would be interested in making a donation, please contact us for additional information.
What kind of activities do you offer?
Hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, horseback riding, nature hiking, ATV riding, picnics, and general outdoor adventures for everyone to enjoy. We want to make possible anything from a dream hunt of a lifetime, to just making possible hunting, fishing and all other normally restricted outdoor activites.
Where are you located?
Hunts of Hopes and Dreams is nestled in the rolling hills of South Central Iowa in Albia, Iowa. There are numerous ponds and many acres of timber, cut trails and fields that are known to inhabit some of the most diverse wildlife.
Who is eligible?
Children with either a terminal illness or a physical disability that may prevent them from enjoying the outdoors without assistance.
Adults with a physical disability that would prevent them from the same outdoor enjoyment.
How do you determine which applicants can or cannot participate?
If the applicant meets the criteria we've set forth, the final decision on the activities or acceptance of a person will be determined by the individual's attending physician. The physician knows the history and physical limitations of the person better than anyone and will know whether the person can handle certain experiences or none at all.
How much will this cost the family?
Accomodations and recreation are provided to our guests at low- or no cost at all with the support of our sponsors and contributors to the project. Any cost will be quoted up front.
